Ah, sure now, tis a question I've known the answer to fer 3 years at least.

The Isle of Mull, most enjoyable in late Spring, or all Summer. Quaint, reminds me of its clones here in New England USA. Shops, restaurants, boating, swimming, family type environment.

Worth the trip to get there, and the stay over.

Depends how long you want to stay. Went to Whitby a few days ago and it was really interesting. Best fish and chips in the country (as recommended by Rick Stein) and plenty of historic stuff with it being the birth place of Captain Cook. Nice little shops and don't forget the Dracula connection.
Scarborough isn't too bad either and don't forget Bridlington and Filey, all within 40 miles of each other.
