My husband and I are wanting to do something nice for our ann. We live in Suffolk and would like to stay around this area, the farthest we would go would be like 2 hours. I would love to go to a nice beach, could someone suggest a good place for us to go and have fun.

Oulton Broad has river cruises, whilst next door lowestoft has 2 beaches that are lovely, plus a wildlife park at kessingland. Southwold is also pretty, with various local pubs and attractions.

If your near there then try walbeswick, it has a beautiful church and a bird reserve. The countryside is wonderful around there, as is the small historic town of Dunwich, but be careful of the cliff path as it erodes badly every year.

IWells-next-the-sea is a really lovely place to go especially if the weather is nice.If you fancy a bit of culture then visit Oxburgh Hall,it has lovely grounds as well as the hall to look around.
A nice place to eat in Thetford is The Mulberry, but make sure you book.
Newmarket races is another good way to spend the day and call in on Swynford paddocks for some afternoon tea.
Have fun.
