Was thinking about a trip to London on advice from friends who have visited. However, a few other people I know have visited have said that a lot of the inhabitants rush everywhere, would walk over you in the street and stare at you on the tube trains, making my trip unpleasant. Is this true? Londonites let me know your thoughts here, I don't wish to sound culturally ignorant.

London is by far the largest city, I know, but do Leeds, Manchester, or anywhere provide a similar feel?

Thanks in advance!

She is 5'5 petite 40 something and with her husband. He can be identified by the fact that he is miost likely grumping about the prices of everything (US dollar vs pound).

Iv'e been reading a lot about Jack the Ripper. In those times (1888), these 2 neighborhoods were where most of the murders took place. They were also the biggest slums and the most criminal localities of London. What are they like now? Would they still be considered poor neighborhoods and how closely do they still resemble what they were in Jack's day?

Next month I need to get across London to meet my brother who will be driving along the M25 west and north sector between J12 (M3) and J27 (M11).

Is there an underground station or overline station with frequent service within a few miles of an M25 junction in this sector?

Instead of clowns, lions, and high wire acts all there is is crowds, neon signs, erotic statues and underground trains.

Hello,

I might be moving to London soon. And I was wondering whether to live in Harrow or not. What I'm interested in are:
- low crime, safe and clean neighbourhood;
- lots of things to do (shopping, pubs, parks);
- low cost;
- good transport connections.

Would living in Harrow provide some of these things?
