This depends on what you call Southampton. If you are looking for somewhere inside the City boundary then I would say that 1. Chilworth 2. Ocean Village 3.Old Town (within the old town walls).
Outside the City there are scenic villages nearby that are delightful but have the disadvantage that you need to commute into the City.
