As my girl friend was a little girl she has had a red rainsuit, also a classical red rainhat. Now as a big girl she wants to buy a red rainhat, while visiting London. Do you know, where we can buy it ? Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany

Thanks.
It's not a joke. Perhaps she means that she can go back to her childhood. Whatever, that's what she wants so much, to buy a classical red rainhat.

Its not going to be easy finding a rain hat in London nowadays. Since its moved onto the newer generation Lol.

But you can always try Oxford Street( the busiest street in europe) there are thousands of shops there. Designer stuff and cheap stuff.
In Tottenham Court Road( just before Oxford Street) there is a shop from 1700s where they specialise in umbrellas and sticks and stuffs. You might find one there.

Then there is one of the worlds best toy shops HAMLEYS, its also a 5min walk from Oxford Street(ask people) They sell toys mainly, but im pretty sure youcan find one there.

Then there is Covent Garden, 10-20 min walk from Oxford Street. its an open market type of place, where there are classical and modern British stalls and shops where you can find the hat. But the shops are fairly expensive. You could also get some food there as the restaurants there are brilliant.

Carnaby Street is near covent garden. Its got all sorts of shops there, which specialise in something. But im not sure if there is a rain stuff lol shop there.

The place im pretty sure youll get a rain hat( not kids style) is John Lewis, a big shop in Oxford Street. I think the price would be 30£ my mom brought one once..

Sorry for the long length. Say Hi to your girl friend. And greetings back to Germany!

I don't know how much time you are going to spend in London, but it is going to take a hell of a lot of time to find an item of clothing that is not that usual. I don't remember seeing red rain hat on anybody since I moved to London in 1993. Anyhow, you will just need to go around central London and all majors stores (e.g. Oxford Street, Regent Street, Carnaby Street, Soho and so on...) and pray for the best. I would probably suggest to your girlfriend to look it up on the net as it will save her and you time and I personally thing she will have more luck that way.
Good Luck searching!!!

You might try Carnaby Street, Covent Gardens, and as a last resort go to Petticoat Lane on any Sunday. That is where the ships come in and every Sunday there are streets and streets of tables and tents filled with anything and everything under the sun. If you can't find it there, it's not findable. Just a trip to each of these places is worth taking.

Oxford Street is the place you might find. If the store has a red collection it might have the items you are looking for, though a red rainhat?!? is a tough one!

You must be joking! Right? Nobody wears rain hats! I would suggest you tell her to buy a hoody instead.
