Was thinking about a trip to London on advice from friends who have visited. However, a few other people I know have visited have said that a lot of the inhabitants rush everywhere, would walk over you in the street and stare at you on the tube trains, making my trip unpleasant. Is this true? Londonites let me know your thoughts here, I don't wish to sound culturally ignorant.

Londoners have a reputation for being rude which I don't think is deserved. Sure, lots of people in London rush around like maniacs but that's true of any city. As for staring at you on tube train, I think the opposite is true - you'll generally find Londoners will go out of their way to avoid eye contact. The only ones who may have a good look at you are the tourists, who will assume you are Londoner and check you out as if you are on their sightseeing list.

London is a great city, I've lived there most of my life and it has so much to offer whatever you're into. You'd have a great time there, I'm sure!

London is the same as any other big city! People rush when they are in a hurry. I've never had any problems there - great place to visit.
