Not a big shopper, so don't send me to Harrods, pls :) and don't care to see all the palaces, etc. I've heard the bus tour is a must- any idea how much that costs? Also, suggestions of good veggie restaurants would be appreciated! Tips on cool/interesting exhibits also welcome. Thanks in advance.

I have a friend who went on a working holiday of London, England and she tells me that (in her opinion) there is a lot of street violence at night. She also believes that the citizens are (generally speaking) fairly rude and unpleasant.

In 3 months time I also will be embarking on a working holiday to England (London specifically) and whilst my friends opinions won't prevent me from going, I am just curious to know whether anyone else (particularly foreigners) agrees or disagrees with her.

When I mean decent I mean a 4 or 5 bedroom house, with a large kitchen, and living room. A inground swimming pool outside, and with 31/2 bathroms. Witch Grantite, and marble countertops? 255,322,191 GPB converted into US Dollars it's $500,000.00 dollars. And over here in the US you can find great beautilful houses like my description. So anyone from the UK who can answer that, or anyone really that would be great. I plan on moving to London someday.

I was looking at this British website on clothes and things like that, and I saw this real cute necklace, and it was priced at £16.00. I did the currency converter into US Dollars, and it came out to be priced as 31 US Dollars!!! That's quite expensive for a necklace that's not even real!!! So any British folks out there that can anser my question or anyone really who can tell me why the UK is expensive (especially London) then let me know!!! Because I want to live in London someday, and I would just like to know. Thanks.
