Because of security reason, you can't carry liquid on the airplane. Putting it in my luggage is a bit risky, because the luggage gets thrown around by the guys.

Like if you wanted to ship an extra piece of luggage?
I am taking the train and they will only allow 2 pieces of luggage at 50lbs max. I'm going away for 8 weeks and I might need another suitcase.

On January 7th, we flew to Denver to attend my father's funeral. We returned home on the 14th. When we unpacked this morning (01/15), I found at least fity tiny amber colored beads inside all of our checked luggage. They were also inside zipped inner compartments which leads me to the conclusion that they were intentionally placed inside our luggage.

With all the warrantless searches that the current administration is claiming privilege to, I'm wondering if this is yet another Homeland Security way of placing "markers" inside the luggage of law-abiding American citizens that can be tracked with various types of sophisticated detection equipment.

Has anyone had experience with this before?

Thanks

I do a lot of short business trips and usually take all my luxury toiletries etc with me since I have space. Now my husband and I are planning our first major overseas trip together. We're going to South America for a month. How does one go about packing all the toiletries and cosmetics one needs. How can we pack minimally but still be well groomed? How do you get around damp face-clothes etc? We need to pack light and efficiently. Any advice?

I applied by person at a service center in Calgary for my passport. The day I submitted my application was Jan. 3 and at that time there was no communication to me about delays or any reason why I should not have my passport in time. I am booked for a trip Feb. 3 and was told by a service agent the only way to guarantee I get my passport at a decent time would be to pick it up rather then having it mailed. So I paid the extra fee. Now, as of Jan. 9 the government of Canada website is saying that there is a sharp increase of volume and that there are 5 to 20 day delays on passports. I submitted my application a week before this notice was presented to the public. Even though I paid to have my passport in Calgary at a certain date for pick-up, should I ALSO be expecting delays even though that was not originally communicated to me at the time of application? And what is considered an "emergency" which will allow me to get it in 24 hrs? I have proof of travel.
