I guess that depends, on where you are going. And what type of cruise line is it. Is it a freestyle cruise or is it a more structured and formal cruiseline.

Many cruises are less formal than the used to be. I would bring a few semi-formal outfits.

Comfortable clothes for the beach and other excursions, two bathing suits, sneakers, sandals and a pair of nice shoes for evening to match outfits above.

Believe me you will acquire stuff on the cruise too, so bring an empty duffle bag for these items.
Toiletries, sunblock and other things you use daily only smaller travel versions.

Have fun.

I am going on a 7 day cruise in February, too! This will be my third cruise, so I normally pack the basics. Change of clothes, bathing suits, toiletries, LOTS of sunscreen, tennis shoes (depending on what ports you are going to, I went to Belize and we need tennis shoes to hike the ruins) , and dressy attire for dinner. Basically whatever you would bring on any other vacation. I this is your first time, here are a few tips...
Be prepared for gourmet food like lobster and steak!!!
Bring LOTS of sunscreen!!!
If you are going to Belize, the way to go is booking an excursion. When we went, we got to go to the Lamani Archaeologist Reserve and climb ancient Mayan ruins. It was great! Also, on the way there and back, our tour guide pointed out birds, lizards, and even crocodiles!!!
Which cruise line are you going on? I have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and I'm going on Norwegian in Feb.
I wish the best and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget your OTC items like sunburn creme and heartburn and headache medicine.

There is usually a gift shop on-board that will have everything you need (forget), but you will pay a hefty price.

I encourage you to chose a pair of dressy shoes that will go with all of your nighttime outfits. Less bulk.

Consider getting a fanny pack or a lanyard w/a pocket to wear around your neck for your room/sign and sail card. It is a major hassle to carry a purse around.

Buy a box of those new XXL Ziploc bags that are about 3 foot tall for sandy, yucky clothes.

Make sure to take a canvas bag for shopping in port and to use to carry home all of your goodies.

Don't overpack...remember, you will have to carry those bags at the port to check back in through customs!

Two pairs of prescriptions glasses/ contact lenses as applicable. Sun glasses or shades. Prescription medicines in their original pharmacy containers. Personal toiletries. Cameras with extra films or memory chips. Binoculars. Insect repellant. Charger for your cell phone.

Cell phones work in parts of Mexico and definitely in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Also as you approach the US mainland and after you've docked, you don't want to have a cell phone with a dead battery and no charger to replenish its power.

Passport and credit cards, some cash. A water proof bag to keep them in, fastened to your body (belly bag) or hung from your neck. A wide brim hat to keep out the sun, as you like.

Remember , on the first day out you'll still be in cold/cooler weather and on the last day, you'll be back in it again so do not just pack for the hot weather alone. I've seen passengers shivering in their shorts and t-shirts on the last day at sea.

Two swimsuits, Bonine (for motion sickness), and a cheap door shoe hanger (the kind w/pockets) to hang on your bathroom door for toiletries, small electronics, etc. Something dressy (but not overly so) for dinners.

it matters where you are going...
at least make sure you have a couple fancy outfits for dinner (it may be required to wear a dress/tie, etc)
comfy clothes for lots of walking wherever you port
bathing suit
workout clothes (optional)
toiletrees
extra socks, underwear, etc.
extra cash
