Some friends of mine work odd jobs on people's farms and what not while floating around to different countries and staying with different families.

I really want to travel or do missionary work, I've even applied to the peace corps but I have no money to do this on my own. I've considered hostels also but don't know how to go about all this.

I can't get a hold of my friends to ask how they are doing this. How can I get involved in something like this?

I'm basically looking to quit my job and do odd things for people in exchange for room and board all over the world.

actually i was born abroad and the certificate I have is called a U.S. Certification of U.S. Birth Abroad. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

Taking a trip - will probably arrive at the hotel early - concerned that if I get there well before 3 that I won't be able to check in. Also, if I can't check in yet, do you think they will check my bags?

If you are driving down the interstate and a highway sign says that it is 257 miles to San Francisco. How do they measure this distance when there are a dozen different ways to get to SF, some shorter, some longer? Is it an average? And to where are they measuring? To the city limit or to the center of the city or maybe it is to the first exit off the highway?

I am so bummed. My granddaughters are visiting from Germany and will be leaving August 4th. I have told them about the Orange County Marketplace. They are so looking forward to going. BUT I just found out that the Orange County Fair is there and the Marketplace will not return until August 11th. Does anyone know where all the vendors go when they are not in the Marketplace? Or is there another place between San Diego and Los Angeles that has just as many vendors as the Marketplace? We are not interested in going to the fair.

i want to rent a RV for camping or the thing that you atach to the back of your car it doesent have to be big but just to sleep in. anyone know how much either of them would cost, or a good website to find it? oh its only for 3 days

About how long does it take to get the vancouver island from the seattle ferry?

Also once you arrive, is there like a transit or an easy way to get to victoria, other then driving a car.

I've never been there so sorry if there stupid questions.

We are from Los Angeles...

We are planning to go late August.

We were planning to go to Mexico, but I don't think I'll be able to get my passport in time.
I have to get a whole new one, since my old one was issued when I was a minor-- It takes FOREVER.

We don't want to go to Vegas either, we want to stay sort of local, but still get the road trip experience.

Any ideas of where to go??

Options so far are Santa Barbara and San Diego---

Just so you know, we are in our 20's and we are very big on late-night activities....

we are not morning people at all.

so Solvang is out. (lol)

Why is it you call a hotel an get two rooms for one night they say it's 150 dollars an something an it's all good an you get more for taxes an stuff but then you call them the day you are leaven for the hotel the price went 3 times the amout an now you can't go have fun an do the water park too.

I live in Clearwater, BC...and on every trip to Kamloops i see i sign that i believe says Hacienda Cabello and its shaped like a horses head. It looks beautiful, almost like a resort...would be a great place to take wedding pictures or the such...but i can't find any information about it anywhere...if anyone can help, that'd be great!!
