actually i was born abroad and the certificate I have is called a U.S. Certification of U.S. Birth Abroad. Anyone know where I can get a replacement?

call the health department where you were born. ask they who handles them it is usually about 10dollars but send it to them and they send you a new birth certificate.

If you are certain as to where you were born, contact the county clerks office and request a copy of your birth certificate, for travel purposes. It will cost a small fee, but you will get a notorized copy.

Your congressman's office may be able to help. If you were born abroad while a parent was serving in the armed services, that branch of the military may be able to direct you.

You need a safe deposit box!
