I'm planning on booking a trip for two in September on an online travel site. When would the best time to book it be. I don't want to book it now and then like the end of August, prices go down.

Usually, you'll get better prices the earlier you book. Airlines give better fares the more time in advance they have for the reservation. When it's very close to the travel date, they usually go up. At the last minute, if a flight is half empty, they might lower the fares to fill it, but if you're planning a vacation, it's risky, since there is no warranty that they will be a lower fare, or maybe even a space to book.

Some low fares require the agency to ticket the fare right away, or within x amount of days after you book it, and charge for changes, so be pretty sure of what you want before actually book your vacation.

Good luck.
