Travel (General) - June 2007

Hey all!
My girlfriend and I wanna go somewhere over the weekend. We're in Ogden, UT and would like to go somewhere cheap. Stay at a bed & breakfast or a cheap motel. See some cool stuff.

We were thinking NYC, but it's too far away. Likewise Canada and Mexico. LA is too crowded, San Fran too expensive. Shoshone Falls in Idaho seem cool, but not much to do there once you've seen the waterfall. I'm thinking about the Grand Canyon, but I don't know yet.

Suggestions please!!!!!

I am stopping over in Miami airport for 6 hours. I will be there with my son and will have already checked in my bags. I would like to see as much of the interesting sites in Miami, including things which would be fun for an 8-year old. Any suggestions?

I just got back from a trip to NYC and I had to do A LOT of research and planning for that trip. I'm wondering if planning a trip to Hawaii in the future is going to be twice as hard to research. And if it would be beneficial to just go to a travel agent. Any feedback would be great!

HI ive booked a holiday via thomson and once i paid i just went on working i checked everything was alright and just left it since i had booked before and and i knew all i had to do was print out the confirmation that had been sent to my email, the problem is i havent recieved the confirmation ive tried contacting them via phone but after 4 atempts and having a 30 minute wait ive given up using the phone ive checked the website but cant seem to find an email address can somebody help

I need to live from late summer to the middle of December out of two suitcases weight limit 50lbs each and buy as little as possible in London. Any tips from locals or study abroad vets?

And if it is layering, could you be a bit more specific? How does one layer? And are there certain types of items that are necessary? Wool jumpers I know.

I've been looking into taking a vacation and after seeing Cuba on The Today Show the other week; I decided that I wanna go. I know that it's illegal for Americans to travel there, but I wanna go anyways.

Please give me details on how exactly to get to Cuba from Houston, TX and back home from Cuba and if you have any tips or advice for Americans traveling in Cuba than would help also.

I know that you can get a special license to travel there it they decided to grant it, but I don't wanna bother b/c I don't wanna take a chance of being put on a watch list by the OFAC or worse.

i have applied for a passport in march and haven't gotten it yet. i'm going to mexico on june 30th and coming back july 7th. is there anything else i can use to get into mexico? my friend told me i can use my birth certificate and california id. is that right? and what about when i come back to the u.s. from mexico? i've heard i can use my id and a print out from the us passport website saying that my passport application is in process.
