What started as hospitality service ended as tourism industry in order to cater for the masses. The increasing numbers of travelers changed what at least in my country was up until quite recently considered as a must. It not only change the industry mentality but the mentality of the people in general.
In a country like Greece where the "xenos=unknown traveler", was considered to be a very special and important person and was treated as such, even by the poorest of the natives, the general attitude gradually changed . The fault to my belief lies on both sides.
Early travelers of the late 50's till up until the late 70's were contented to get the simple hospitality and the friendly attachment offered by the people who catered for them. Later on, demands made the hotel industry more aggressive and more anonymous for both parties involved..

Undoubtedly "Hotel Industry". Because, wherever you intend to go, you search for a good food and comfortable stay. With the Hotel's good hospitality, you will satisfy physically and then after your Tourism... and rest....

i have to say hospitality because it includes the tourism industry and adds hospitality. not all travelers are tourists. hope this helps
