I am due some holiday and it would be ok to take some after October 12th. Let's say 2 weeks. I can go to sunnier parts of Europe or North Africa relatively cheaply. I don't want to spend all that much. Any clever ideas, so cunning you could attach whiskers and a tail and call them a weasel, that you are prepared to offer me?

I have bought travel insurance perhaps 50 times over the last 20 or so years, the first time I ever had to make a legitimate claim, within the policy, I had to fight tooth and nail with the insurance company and eventualy gave up.

Entry and exit stamps for countries within the European Union have the symbol for the method of transport you used to make your entry / exit. I have stamps with plane, train and car and I know you can get boat stamps as well. My questions is - what other symbols can you get? Does anyone out there have stamps for walking or riding a bike? What about skiing (okay, I'm being silly now)? You can cross a border walking or riding a bike so presumably a stamp for those situations would exist?

Do they change them to give other planes a more direct route, or does it depend on the weather etc This isn’t a need to know question its a want to know as recently we have had planes coming over our house (they never did a year ago, and there not practically annoying because there still quite high up) I’m just nosey but id like to know if others know why this is.

I'm going to visit Europe -primarily Italy and the UK.
I'd like to know what precautions should I take. [i.e.carrying a soap case (so it isn't wet inside my bag), something to wear in the showers to avoid plantal warts (he was serious enough), a knife to cook myself (but to make sure that I don't seem like a terrorist) and to never EVER speak in English to a French.]

I'm thinking of going away in March. I am looking for somewhere which is fun, lively, has lots of interesting things to see and do, and has really good weather at that time of year.

I have already been to some obvious spring break destinations: New York, Miami, Cape Town, and Buenos Aires.

Any other suggestions? I will be flying from the UK

There used to be a website on which you selected a date and a somewhat specific location of a hotel in which to stay, and also a star rating and an amenity list. The price was discounted; the only catch was that you couldn't see exactly which hotel you'd chosen until after you'd paid with a credit card. Does anyone know which site this is? I've used it before with great results. (I know it's wasn't Priceline, because you never named your price.) Thank you!

A man was lost in the desert for 3 days and suddenly hears "mush!". He looked up to see what he thinks is a mirage : an Eskimo on a sled, driving a team of huskies. To his surprise, the sled came to a stop at his feet. He said, " I don't know why you're here, but I'm glad you are. I've been lost for days." Panting, the Eskimo repies, "You think YOU'RE lost?"
