Entry and exit stamps for countries within the European Union have the symbol for the method of transport you used to make your entry / exit. I have stamps with plane, train and car and I know you can get boat stamps as well. My questions is - what other symbols can you get? Does anyone out there have stamps for walking or riding a bike? What about skiing (okay, I'm being silly now)? You can cross a border walking or riding a bike so presumably a stamp for those situations would exist?

I'm on an Australian passport. I almost always get stamps when entering an departing the EU but don't get them when I'm travelling from one EU country to another.

I have also crossed borders from Switzerland into the EU on several occasions and never gotten a stamp. Switzerland is just too relaxed when it comes to Immigration! When I've crossed the border from Croatia (non-EU) into Slovenia (EU) I have been stamped though.

Cool, I have crossed the border from Switzerland to the EU by plane, car, train, biking and skiing, and never got nothing.

I'm from one of the new EU member states but the old ones never stamped in my passport even when we weren't in the EU yet. Many of the stamps I've gotten recently are either non-European or are from newly independent countries like the post-Yugo ones who are desperately trying to prove they exist (no offense to any of their citizens here, but their border guards make everyone wait like 3-4 hours if they don't get some money or gift).

When I was over there, admittedly 33 years ago, they refused to stamp my passport at every boarder. I went from Australia to Singapore, to England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Sweeden, (I think that was all) and only got a stamp in Singapore and England!
