I'm going to visit Europe -primarily Italy and the UK.
I'd like to know what precautions should I take. [i.e.carrying a soap case (so it isn't wet inside my bag), something to wear in the showers to avoid plantal warts (he was serious enough), a knife to cook myself (but to make sure that I don't seem like a terrorist) and to never EVER speak in English to a French.]

Realize that you may not always get a ride. Have a credit card and some money. Its a long trip from Italy to the UK and you may decide to hop on a train at one point.
