Ok, in a couple of weeks I'm going to visit family in Massachusetts for 2 weeks. I just need a little direction from people who have experience with "extended" vacations? I will be able to do laundry at one of my aunt's, but I would say no more than once. I just don't want to over pack like I always do, so if anyone has any insight I would appreciate it.

Can I use those tiny locks people use for their luggage, or should I buy a combination masterlock that people use at gym lockers?

24 yrs old, have not been on holiday in 3 years since uni, work too hard and will lose my mind if I don't take off for a while asap. I was thinking something along the whole spa concept, but not entirely sure if I should do that kind of holiday alone (boredom factor). I need a bit of a general city / alcohol / stress/ life detox and would welcome any suggestions. Anywhere. Doing anything.... Cost is not really an issue.

cheers all

I overheard someone say that there are some all inclusive cruises that depart from San Francisco starting at $200. I have never taken a cruise because of my funds but I am willing to pay $200. Can anyone direct me to where i could go?

Is anybody aware of any incidents in which a British Airways flight has crashed, because i'm going to be flying with them in October on an 18 hour flight and i'm just a bit reluctant to be on a flight for that long - (the way i see it, things that big and heavy aren't meant to be in the air for that duration of time). So any statistics or records which you may have or know of, which could ease my mind would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

They said that many planes had to dump fuel at altitude because they couldn't land with full tanks. Can someone explain this to me because I don't see why it would be necessary. Is there some mechanical reason for this or was it some kind of safety precaution? Thank you in advance for your responses!

My boyfriend and I will be getting married next year. We're thinking of Curacao for our honeymoon. We're vegetarians so we want to do our own cooking as much as possible, therefore we would like a place with a kitchenette. We would like a good "value for money" hotel with a pool, near the beach but within close walking distance of restaurants. We don't want a noisy area, else we won't be able to sleep. Thanks to all in advance for your kind answers.

This usually applies to the hotel portion of a package tour, even on cruises too. If a single person occupies the room or cabin, they charge u extra (almost paying for two). I wonder if there are alternatives (B&B's, specific cruises, travel agency...). Help anyone?

I want a relaxing holiday (next May) where I can just lay on the beach or by a pool and read loads of chick-lit.
