Take a combination of Turkish Lira and Sterling. If you go to the markets, you will get a better deal with Lira, but you can pay for most things with either currency. Plus just be aware that when you get to the Turkish Airport, you will need to get a visa before you go through passport control. It'll cost £10 each so make sure you have enough Sterling for that. It catches a lot unaware!

obviously take turkish lira. as far as foreign currency is concerned, I have found that in Turkey as well as Eastern Block countries (countries which have not adopted the Euro) that the USD is still the most trusted foreign currency. But pls bear in mind, that if you are vacationing, you can use foreign currency - but will get ripped off in the process. Change your currency at home, not abroad.

It already is - as you have published the Islamic occasion rule Turkey - and 'they' sell their Islamic ideals with the help of skill of political rules and so on. Turkey's Muslims of distinctive faiths....Sunnis (eighty%) and Shia (20%) yet those Islamists have the willingness/decision and the capacity to sell in spite of they want....with the help of violence or intimidation of the others - as a majority of those minority middle-east countries have been ruled - till the (so-called) Arab Spring....the place the majorities took administration. Being a minority Muslim group isn't a difficulty - if the coverage of aggressiveness and intimidation in the direction of the peoples is there....the majority opposition basically 'caves in'....that being a private survival element for those peoples caught up with very own schedule's from the Islamic following.
