In order words what is Chile know for besides its 4,400 km length? Why do many tourists go there, what is there to see in Santiago? How is the spanish language over there? are their accent different from Argentina?

I have a choice to go to Panama or Paraguay. Central America or South America? My goal is to learn spanish better and to be surrounded by culture. Which country would give me the best experience. My Spanish is quite excellent but not proficient enough which is why I am going abroad for 6 weeks. Which country would you pick and why?

I am planning on going abroad with "AFS" and I don't know whether i should go to the Argentina or Chile. My goal is to learn Spanish better and to be surrounded by culture and having fun! I also noticed that Argentina have 85% of the people descended from Europeans while in chile It is the the mestizos that are 85%.

I think that Chile would be a cool place because its the end of the world plus andes mountains plus ocean but thats just me.

I may have to travel to Columbia for work. Has anyone been out there? I have checked out the f/office web site and they advise against travelling to certain areas. Seriously considering refusing to go. Anyone have any experences that would convince me other wise?

I dont understand, when Puerto Rico comes out with something or discovers something, why do other Latin coutries try to take hold of it?
Examples : Reggeaton, is a Puerto Rican thang! not Mexican

I need to send some personal possessions - books, clothes, that sort of thing - to a friend's address in South America. But they will weigh a fair bit, and I don't want to spend a fortune.
