I've only seen this once, but when I was one one of my trips to Ireland, I stayed at some accomodation above a pub in a small town. I noticed the shower had some sort of electric box in it, with some knobs, which I easily found out control the shower stream and temperature. This was in leiu of what we're used to in the states, which would be a typical shower knob(s). I only saw this device once on my trip, and was curious as to what it's purpose was. I'm assuming it's a power device to provide water pressure, but why don't all old buildings have them? I stayed in several places that were rather old, and none of them other than this one had one. I'm curious about it, because I've since learned that these are more commonplace in that part of the world than I thought.

Hello, I'm an italian girl, and the next last day of the year we are in Dublin. I reserved a room at Comfort Inn Granby Row in Pernell square. I saw a lot of recentions in internet, but we are all different. One thing for me is more important, I want to Know its position, if it is in the centre of the city, or far to the centre. Thank you at all and I'm sorry for my horrible English.....good bye from Italy....

I recently traveled to Ireland with a group. While in a town near Galway a group of girls were attacked for no reason at all by travellers (or gypsies I heard both tems used). Is this a rare occurrence or a serious problem that happens often because very little was done about the attack after it was reported.

I will say though that this was the only negative experience the whole trip. The rest was wonderful.

Apart from pleading poverty, robbin inconspicious old people, begging (not in my posh frock) , and telling my friends how depressed I am so they'll feel sorry for me (tried that last time, went out with £1 in my pocket came home with the same pound and was rather merry on the way home.!)I'd like to be very merry again but without digging to deeply into my purse.?
