I am looking for maps depicting viable transportation routes between Magadan, Russia and Ulannbaatar, Mongolia. More specifically, roads, commercial roads, and rail roads. I have been able to locate a few good maps of Mongolia, but none with both Magadan and Ulaanbaatar. My need for this information is purely academic as I am writing a logisitics paper, attempting to determine alternative delivery routes for heavy equipment replacement parts.

Read in a health-diet book that "Russians have outlawed the use (of microwave ovens)". I find this hard to believe. Shed some light on the issue? Thanks

When Russian in the West most Russian wake up for a day, the Eastern part of Russia has already finished a day's job and ready to go home.

Isn't that a problem for Russian people?

In the US, we have only 3 hrs difference between the East and West coast .

Which surnames in Russia are also known to be in Poland or have a Polish origin/association? I presume most Polish names are Germanic, is that correct? Also, where might the name Osherenkoff originate from? City? Town? Region?

Sometime next year I will be out of work but with a wad of dough in my hand and some free time. I fancy taking the train across Russia to Vladivostok. Just wondered if anyone out there who's done this can give me some pointers? Any good places to stop off and see along the way? How far in advance do I have to arrange things? etc.
