does anyone have any information about these cities, good and bad and any other information will be appreciated. Thanks

I have never been on Kamen'-na-Obi (only passed through it's train station - it's a small town of about 45 thousand people), but I have been to Barnaul quite a few times and I have many friends from there. It's a nice old Russian city, a capital of Altay region. People from there are friendly (that's why I have many friends from there :-)). I liked its old (circa XIXth century) wooden buildings. In terms of food it was famous for its dairy products ("Russian Vermont"?). In 19th century it exported its butter to Western Europe (it was so cheap that locals used it for greasing wheels) and even in Soviet times of shortages of many food products in other regions, visitors (including myself) were astonished by variety of local cheeses available at the stores).

It is nice cities please be tolerant and you will see very nice and kind people there.
Barnaul is very near beutiful Altaj mountains and very nice nature .Have a nice trip!
