This would be a catastrophic nuclear event, being that the US and Russia has the largest nuclear weapons cache in each country. I once read that out of 300,000 nuclear warheads in the world today, less then 4,000 of them belongs to other countries, Russia and the US are both considered to be close to being evenly armed. Not to not give attention to the chemical poisons stored by both countries, that was used in past wars, and had devastating affects for all whom were involved with the testing and use of these poisons. The answer is nobody would win, and the world will be doomed.

Why would Russia attack the USA right now, hon? The Cold War is over and Russia has enough problems. Many people in the US think of Russia as a friend now. I'd be a lot more worried about China pulling a stunt.
