I am going to be traveling to Western Europe and was wanting to buy a pocket translater. Does anyone know of a brand or model that is good?

Working worldwide with my laptop, I am about to move to Bratislava in 10 days.
It may take a while until I find myself a (nice!) apartment and have ADSL services installed in it. So, while I still need to work, any recommendations on good cafes/places with wi-fi internet hotspot that I can work from using my laptop?

Also, I have been told that there are good chances of having my laptop robbed once gyspies notice it. Is that so?
Any advice or idea what to do in order to avoid this (or other gypsies "issues")?

Just over ten years ago I worked in the bar of the hostel on Rue Felicien Rops, Namur, Belgium. At that time is was by far the best YHA hostel in Europe in terms of a good, fun atmosphere with friendly staff. So my question is this: Have you stayed there recently and if so, what's it like now?
(My apologies to the community for posting the same question 6 times yesterday- my browser was playing up and I kept hitting resend thinking that it wasn't working. I then frantically removed my postings with the intention of leaving one but removed them all....)

I'm going to Italy in April and have been trying to learn some Italian to get by. It seems like some of the words are similar to ours...but not many. I'm hoping that the language barrier won't cause me many problems and that English is understood and spoken in most areas. Does anyone have any suggestions for the language situation?

Hi i am looking for somwhere in europe for me and my girlfriend to go in April for a week. Preferably sunny and warm, nice scenery, would be nice by the sea but not essential. Also we would like there to be lots of things to do, eg attrations, activities and also shopping area but also where you can relax and go for walks.
