Working worldwide with my laptop, I am about to move to Bratislava in 10 days.
It may take a while until I find myself a (nice!) apartment and have ADSL services installed in it. So, while I still need to work, any recommendations on good cafes/places with wi-fi internet hotspot that I can work from using my laptop?

Also, I have been told that there are good chances of having my laptop robbed once gyspies notice it. Is that so?
Any advice or idea what to do in order to avoid this (or other gypsies "issues")?

You'll find tons of cafes with Wi-Fi hotspot internet connection in downtown Bratislava. There's a list of some of them on this website. Unfortunately, it's in Slovak language but you can at least see their addresses http://www.kamnapivo.sk/area526.html
And when it comes to gypsies stealing your laptop, just keep an eye on all your stuff and you'll be fine.
Good luck

well, do watch out for Gypsies... They're as far as Germany now but don't worry about the local people.

Hey!! That's the same question I have of getting Wi Fi in the Czech Republic.

No one will steal your laptop if you keep an eye on it.
