I don't understand what is that line. Is it the shape of a woman seen from the side? Is it the seina river?
If it is a woman, why do they choose it to represent a transportation system?

Is it possible to go spend a day in Calais (France) from London? If so, how do I do (bus, train, or what? Any sugestions?)?

I've been to Europe before, but I will be traveling there alone this summer for the first time. Unfortunately I'm only bilingual (English and French) and the thought of going to countries by myself where I don't speak the language scares me. However, I really want to visit Italy, Greece, Germany, etc. My question is, should I just stick to the UK, Ireland, and France this time around since I really need to gain my bearings on solo travel, or should I go to other countries regardless?

I went all over Eastern Europe and even Russia. I would say that Poland and Lithuania were better, but the other countries, the people seemed to even look at you like they wanted to hit you or something. And I thought many very rude when needing something. Not all the time, but most.

I'm thinking about doing a semester exchange in Latvia and it would be great if you could tell me anything you know about the country. Also, any websites or travel guide books that you recommend would be great.
