Radio Shack carries a foreign travel converted that is rated for up to 1600 watts, that is great for laptops, small refrigerators, or other larger items. If you need something more powerful, they also have one that would work for you (it's in a black box, but I forget what the rating is on it, so ask any sales associate, and they'll be able to help you). Also, if you're traveling to many different countries, be sure to pick up the set of plug adapters that they carry there (the four or five adapters in there will cover just about any country you would want to visit). Good luck, and enjoy your trip!

Get yourself a 2:1 step down transformer. and an adaptor from round pin plugs to the US flat blade ones. the adaptor should cost you about 2 bits, the transformer a little more. 75 or 100 watt transformer should be good enough.

If you plan on using a curling iron OR a blow dryer, get the biggest one you can find, at least a 2,000 watt (2k). If you get a small one and use it for these items, you'll have a broken converter and a dead cell phone.
