Lisbon would be an excellent choice. It has lots of mild sunshine at that time of year, and is a great choice for couples.

The scenery in the city and surrounding areas is lovely. Lots of excellent viewpoints. The River Tejo and the Atlantic Ocean are also nearby.

There are plenty of activities and attractions in the city itself. Treat yourself to a Mini Rough Guide to Lisbon or a Lonely Planet book and immerse yourself in this distinctive city.

For shopping, head to the Baixa shopping 'grid' in the centre. Plenty of boutiques and shops in the area, and also pedestriansied, so perfect for browsing. Lisbon also has a couple of slick and stylish shopping malls.

If you want to go walking, treat yourself to a couple of days out to nearby resorts of Cascais and Estortil. Lonely Planet books also have a chapter on themed walking tours. The nearby UNESCO world heritage site of Sintra is also lovely for walks. It is a stately home set in lush pine-forested hills.

I'm not sure about cheap hotels, but the mentioned guidebooks have detailed chapters on accommodation, with recommended hotels.

Also, log on to www.tripadvisor.com type in Lisbon and click on the link about hotels and flights. You will be able to find yourself some really good deals there. (My friends have booked their entire honeymoon using this site).

Good luck, and enjoy your trip, wherever you choose to go.

It can only be Amsterdam!

Try the Hotel Hortus for a cheap, laid back stay. They even have a pool table and a machine with 1 Euro Heinikens in the lounge.

There is also a great deal to do in Amsterdam without spending much money.

Not quite Europe, although belonging to Spain, have you considered the Canaries. We went to Lanzarote last year in February and it fits all your requirements. It is not too far to travel by plane, weather is lovely, with lots of things to do or the opportunity to relax and take things easy.
