Can anyone recommend a good hostel to stay in Cesky Krumlov? I know a lot of backpackers go to this town. Ideally, I would like to know if there is a hostel where I can meet and party with some backpackers (you know, the usual Aussie/Kiwi type crowd).
Thanks!

I am in the Czech Republic for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years. I was thinking of trying out some cheap skiing while I'm there. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has been to Benecko in the Krkonose mountains.
Also, I have found Pension Chata Karolina in hostel web sites but they don't have any reviews for it. Has anyone stayed there?
(I will also accept answers in Czech language, if you want to email them me).
Thanks!

I will be traveling to Europe for the first time in a couple weeks. I have a four-country rail pass and will be taking the train into several different cities. According to my schedule, there are some travel segments that require seat reservations. I understand that they should be made once I am in Europe, as it is more expensive to make them while I'm in the US. My question is, how do I reserve a seat? Can any rail station make a reservation for me? Can I do it over the phone? Do they need to be made in advance of my train trip, or can I just walk up to a window (say an hour before the train leaves) and pay for it then?

Thank you for any and all advice!

I've never been to Berlin before (or anywhere in Germany actually), and am going with my lesser half Friday morning to Monday afternoon. Obviously I've got the old guide book all ready, but wondered what places people recommend seeing/experiencing etc.

Also, any restaurants, cafes or bars recommended would be great too.

We're both mid-30's, and this is just relaxing coupley stuff(don't give me all romantic bollocks tho). Yeah, we like a good drink, but nothing too rowdy, and don't particularly want to go clubbing as we can do that here with our mates!

Any hints and tips would be great!! :-D

Six of my friends and I are going to Oslo for 3 nights in Jan and we are looking for a city center hotel that is cheap and warm, another issue is that none of us have a credit card so we would have to be able to email the hotel to sort it out, like we can give them a number for a deposit but we won't be able to carry the card with us. Has anyone been there and does anyone have any tips etc?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
