Constantinople was the capital of the Roman Empire between 330 and 395, the Byzantine Empire between 395 and 1453, and the Ottoman Empire between 1453 and 1923. Well, I believe Constantinople doesn't exist anymore...it's now Istanbul, in Turkey.
