The Netherlands have bike paths that are physically separated from the automobile lanes. Submit your question(s) to: info@anwb.nl They're like the AAA here, except that part of their name translates to "Bicyclist" They have bike "tours" you can take by yourself, by following special road signs. Unfortunately the ANWB website is all in Dutch. But since most everybody in Holland speaks English, they shold be able to help you directly.

Usually the most colorful time is spring (tulip season!) Howvever, from my own experience, it rains less in September. Just avoid the Summer. I would also try to avoid Amsterdam, unless you can park your bike somewhere, and just take public transportation.

I understand that Denmark too, is bicycle friendly. England should be too, except their country roads are quite narrow.

Finally, when you go to there, make sure you have a cell phone with service for Europe (gms;) that includes most Cingulair cell phones. Along with a voltage converter so you can charge it over there.
