Six of my friends and I are going to Oslo for 3 nights in Jan and we are looking for a city center hotel that is cheap and warm, another issue is that none of us have a credit card so we would have to be able to email the hotel to sort it out, like we can give them a number for a deposit but we won't be able to carry the card with us. Has anyone been there and does anyone have any tips etc?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Book a hotel online before going, some online hotel reservation sites allow you to pre pay for your reservation at the site itself not to the hotel, they issue you a voucher that you print and carry with you to the hotel, so that the hotel won't charge you.
I recommed you check http://www.HotelsBoss.com because they accept ATM "Visa Electron" depit cards for your hotel reservations not only credit cards.
