I am from the US, will be in the middle east this january, and considering traveling to Cyprus.

-Is Cyprus worth the visit at that time of year?
-Am I allowed into North Cyprus?
-will people understand English, or will i be totally lost?
-is it warm enough for going swimming in the ocean?

Also, I am not the kind of person who is interested to touristy things, or shopping or nightclubs. I'd like to hike around, or maybe rent a bicycle. any suggestions?

thanks

Hey, I'm just wondering what the best places would be to get information on Eastern European countries--culture, climate, etc. I'm writing a story wioth a prominant character from somewhere there. Where is a good place to start for this (websites, books, etc.) I would love to go but I'm too poor to afford it. :(

I'm planning a trip to western europe this winter on a tight budget. Countries I plan to visit are far and wide, like Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Prague. Are there local buses available in each of these countries which are affordable? Or is it preferable to use trains? Because when I checked the price listing on websites like Eurail.com, the prices are not even near my budget!

Going for a wee trip there next week.
Looking for price comparisons for food and drink v's British pounds (or US dollars). Ive noticed that beer (let's face it, it's an important sustenance) is about £5... (www.pintprice.com). What about food, travel etc. And what's the food like? No Google pastes please - personal experience only.
Many thanks.

I live in Germany and my company wants to send a case of wine to a customer in California for Christmas? Is that possible? We would have to pay import duties of course, but my question is if it can legally be done? Does one need a permit or something. We have heard in passing that it is really difficult to do. Any help would be appreciated.

best time of the year (rg December/January or February), do you know a hotel/guesthouse that you could recommend? place that is great, safe but reasonable in cost?

I did not see snow for ages! and really want to make special time.

Ok so at school, I signed up to go on a trip to Paris with a few friends. There was a meeting etc. And so i was really stoked. But the teacher is being stupid and changed it to Rome and Tuscany. Now, it seems to me like Paris has a lot more to do for a group of 16 year old girls, compared to Rome and Tuscany. Am I wrong? and if so, what is there to do that a group of teenaged girls will find interesting? ( by the way, this is the farthest thing from an educational trip, so please do not let that be a factor in your answers.)
