best time of the year (rg December/January or February), do you know a hotel/guesthouse that you could recommend? place that is great, safe but reasonable in cost?
I did not see snow for ages! and really want to make special time.

go to Garmich or however it's spelled, it's on the border of germany and austria, ski the alpine alps there (awsome and beautiful!!!) there's skiing there from like OCT through June
and there's a lot of hotels...or small local "guest houses" there that are pretty reasonable and cozy as hell! and the atmosphere is great! and there are some americans there because there's a small army post near by so you might run into some english speaking people that know the area and can show you the hot spots....and and the neusweinstein castle is only 45 minuites away, it's the fairytail caste that Disney's castle was modled from, and is a must see while in the area

Some great spots in Slovenia and a lot less expensive than Italy, Switzerland or Austria.

Norma in France is an awesome motel, quite some reliable slopes, also no longer too intense priced. Bulgaria is reliable, yet reliable snow isn't certain. Austria is likewise quite rattling reliable, were given a ton of reliable, less costly hotels there. in my view i love the motel Torgon in Switzerland, its no longer too intense priced, reliable snowboarding, between the suited snow parks i have ever been to, reliable nightlife.
