I love francevaccations.net and go-today.com I used to be able to get special fare alerts for europe from american airline directly, now they only do domestic on the service I used.

Does anyone have a favorite bargain hunting site for euro-travel deals or airfare. Tell me about it , or give other bargain savy tips.

I want to surprise my hubby with a trip home for Christmas. I would like to go sometime in March. We live in Savannah Georgia, so we can depart from the Atlanta or Jacksonville airport and would like to arrive within 100 miles of Kaiserslauten; where his family lives. What is the easiest and cheapest way to find this info? I have been on travelocity but with so many variables (dates, departure points, arrival points) it is going to take forever. The other option that wouldbe fine is to fly to anywhere in Europe and take the train through Kaiserslauten so we can see Europe. Help!

I know Jay Leno loves to show stereotypical Americans for laughs. But I can barely get three words out when I'm in Europe, before people start speaking slowly and addressing me with the tone one would with a child.

Are stereotypes that powerful? All you have to do is watch UK Big Brother, to know there are ignorant people in every nation. Can you get to know Americans as individuals before the assumptions take hold?

What European country would suit me.

A country with few smokers

A country where people drink alcohol without getting drunk or violent

A country where people are friendly

A country with strong sentances for killers, rape, making fake money etc

A country where people respect the law

A country where people respect other religions and don't insult other peoples beliefs

A country where woman are not cheap or easy

A country where men are not streotyped as being hard and violent

A country where men are laid back and have a laugh without woring about there image

I have a friend who is travelling to Western Europe for her first time. I am not sure what holiday gifts to give in order to "enhance" her trip. She will be travelling by herself and she will be on a Contiki Tour. She will be there from mid-December to early January. I think she will likely visit the UK, France, etc.

What gift idea do you have? Thank you!

I will be traveling to Europe -- 1st stop Rome, italy -- on Valentine's Day in 2007. Need advice with hotel booking. Also, I plan on taking a train to Geneva, Switzerland. What's the price for a train ticket and how long is the train ride? Then, I'll take the train to Paris. Again, what is the price and length of trip??
