Because the Bank of England wishes to retain control of the interest rates, once in the Euro, the banks have no choice or control in the interest rates as they are set by the central bank in Europe, the same mortgage interest rate is set for the whole of the euro zone, no matter what the individual countrys' economy is like. Sweden is also in the EU but they have not gone into the euro either, possibly for the same reason.
The Uk would be far better off being part of an allegiance to the US as they chose not to adopt many eurozone issues, such as the euro and the fcat that we still need a passport to get back to the Uk from anywhere else, whereas other Eu citizens can travel on their ID cards

First, there are many British who don't want to be part of the European economy. Some of this is nationalism. But, a large part is from the experience with European Union. There were several times when mandates by the EU appeared to be against British interests.

Second, when the Euro first went on-line, it was very unstable. The British Government decided to pull out of the Euro because there was concern that it would crash and it would take the British economy with it.

Because this is Britain and we have always used the £, and also the £ is a damned sight stronger than the euro, do you want your money devalued, because I am bloody sure I don't, and I pity any government who changes the way our £ is now, they would never get a second term in office, that is for sure!!!

Because we are a bit too slow to realise what a success it is, it is slowly leaving the £ behind and proving that the whole concept of a single currency is viable. It is not perfect, but it's getting there

Would you really rather use Euros? Having our own currency is much better, plus if we changed men would have to buy new wallats to fit money properly!!
