I want to surprise my hubby with a trip home for Christmas. I would like to go sometime in March. We live in Savannah Georgia, so we can depart from the Atlanta or Jacksonville airport and would like to arrive within 100 miles of Kaiserslauten; where his family lives. What is the easiest and cheapest way to find this info? I have been on travelocity but with so many variables (dates, departure points, arrival points) it is going to take forever. The other option that wouldbe fine is to fly to anywhere in Europe and take the train through Kaiserslauten so we can see Europe. Help!

I went to Kasier for the World Cup Soccer. I took the train from Vienna to Kaiser. I would definitely recommend the train. Go to a website called www.raileurope.com. They are very helpful.

If you sleep lightly and your train ride is overnight, I would recommend you taking some Ambien as that was the only thing that helped me.

My suggestion: fly into Munich or Berlin and then take the train from there.

You can also go to a website called www.diebahn.com.

the best thing to do is to fly into frankfurt international and take the train to kaiserslautern to visit your family, from there you can take the train to many other locations, please remember that germany has different counties so every county is different and the train passes and fares are different, for example bavaria, you can go anywhere in bavaria in the train for 25 euro if is more than two people, but if you go to berlin it can cost you a bit more.
