In addition to the usual must-see things, parts of the city get all decorated for the holidays including street fairs of sorts. For example, Vorosmarty ter (square) in the middle of the city has all sorts of vendors including wonderful food vendors. If you eat meat, you have to try the sausages there. Another area that tends to have such holiday vendors is near the Opera (I don't remember the exact location).
