Sounds fun!

Can you start in Budapest instead of Vienna. Since Budapest is east of Vienna, it would make more sense. I'd go from Budapest to Vienna then Prague then Dresden finishing up in Berlin. Or the entire thing in reverse.

Any reason you're driving? Taking a train may be much more convenient. It's a great means of transportation in that part of the world. And that way you don't have to deal with inner-city crazy traffic and parking hassles.

I lived in Vienna a few years ago and I have been to Prague. I, personally, would hate to only spend on average 1-2 days in each city. You don't get a feel for the city and you can only scratch the surface. I would knock it down to 2-4 cities.

Vienna is gorgeous. You must go to the 1st district and see the Stephensdom. There is also amazing shopping in that area. There is the Karlskirce, gorgeous, as well as the opera which you can attend in the standing section for a few Euro. I would also go to the Hofburg, the Imperial winter residence of the Hapsburg, as well as the Belvedere, the summer home of the Hapsburg. The Schonbrunn is also a must.

As far as Prague goes, it is simply beautiful. You should stay as close to the old town square as you can. There is alot to see in the old town square, but I must warn you, it is as crowded as Disney World. The Karls bridge is gorgeous as well. There is also the old Jewish ghettos and famous graveyard. The castle of Prague is pretty, but I wasnt that impressed. It wasnt an actual castle, but rather a compound with a church (which was gorgeous) and a few buildings.

I recommend getting a rail pass. You can travel through 5 countries for 10 days for a few hundred dollars. For a little extra you can get a sleeping car and save on hotel costs. Plus you can get from Vienna to Prague in 5 hours with no traffic.

i don't think of you are able to attempt this in 10 days. Distances are fairly lengthy. Berlin - Prague takes about 4 hours and a 0.5. Prague - Budapest 7 hours Budapest - Ljubljana 8 hours and a 0.5 you may want to regulate to a community prepare in Ljubljana to get to Bled and it takes 40minutes to at least a million hour to get there. Ljubljana - chop up 13 hours and better Berlin, Prague, Budapest and Bled (you ought to comprise Ljubljana; one among my wide-spread capitals) are all effective places. yet i might want to go away a minimum of chop up out. that is purely yet another massive port city. no longer something that particular about it and it takes an pretty lengthy time period to get there.
