There is a debate that say that althought nothing wrong with being gay it might be an issue if gay couples bring up kids in that the kids could suffer, both in the community and by not having a more '' balanced '' upbringing.i.e.By both sexes.
What do you all think?

I’ve been reading several answers suggesting whether we should stay at the Greek section or not, due to certain insults, reports & violations occurred.
I strongly believe that everyone has the right to express his opinion freely, and any disapproval should be expressed civilized through dialogue and arguments.
I don’t believe though that I should abandon a section I really enjoy, only because some people are not educated enough to understand the above.
What do you think???

after having the new type identity cards,( the ones with the latin characters on them), in about a year we are going to have to change our ID cards again, this time they are going to become electronical
it is said that after a few( i dont know how many) years , we are going to be asked to have our ID cards implanted into our hands, so there is no risk of loosing them, since they are going to have all your personal inforamtion and even give access to your bank account
will you agree to do that?

I see some aggressiveness here in the "Greece" section sometimes... why's that? I think that aside of any rules Y!Answers has about the behaviour of its users, we are human beings, aren't we? So, let's be nice to each other and show some good manners.

Peace!

and would you actually use violence if you could? (I mean if you knew you were strong enough not to get beaten up?) I mean in everyday life, like when I am driving and have lit the flash to turn right, and then the smart*** behind me overpasses from the right, and he swears too!

There has been some controversy over this issue the last few days, so I'd like to make my point of view clear, to avoid any misunderstanding.
1. I don't use thumbs up/down based on liking or disliking specific people, but on the specific answer each time.
2. I only use thumbs down when
a. I have a strong disagreement with some answer, regardless of the person, and regardless if it concerns a personnal opinion. For example, if an answer is in favour of the death penalty, which I am against, I would thumb it down, even if the person is my friend
b. I think teh content of the answer is scientifically wrong (if for example someone says that a kitten should be given cow's milk, I'd thumb down, because I know it gives them diarrhea).
3. I don't necessarily answer the question myself. I may give thumbs up and down in one question, without answering. Thus, it is normal that there are more thumbs up/down than answers.
Do you agree?

I raised the question of torture in Greece and had a bizarre response which mostly criticised me, assuming I was Albanian. This is very strange. I am not Albanian, though of course I absolutely deplore the recent torture of Albanians that was broadcast on YOUTUBE.
Certainly, many of the alleged incidences of torture in Greece involve foreigners and often Albanians, but not all.
My question remains:
Is there any media coverage or news about the trials of those men accused over 3 years ago of torturing Afghans? Mexicans? Is there news of any progress in the case agaisnt the police for brutality agaisnt the Johnsons (beaten up in 2003), any compensation for the Planespotters (2002-3), any progress in investigations into brutality and the murder of gay people in Spices bar; any compensation for the false imnprisonment of truck-driver Wilson (2003); Joseph Okeke( electrocuted by the police in Pallini); progress in cvases agaisnt abuse of Greek Nationas protesting against conscription

I've always found myself rather interested in politics, and I remember that as a child my father always encouraged me and my brothers to get involved (not necessarily to be members of a certain party, but to be as he said "active citizens"). Lots of young people though, consider that a waste of time. What do you think?

I am traveling to Athens in 2 weeks for 3 days of sight seeing. I have what looks like a great hotel located 5 minutes from Victoria Square, near the Victoria station at: 62 Filis Street, Athens 104 34, Greece

The location is not mentioned in guide books which instead recommend Syntagma Square and Plaka/ Monastiraki.

If someone who knows Athens can ofer an opinion as to whether Victoria Station is a suitable choice (we are young in healthy, so don't mind some walking).

the question seems reasonable to me. A glance at the yahoo submission and the recent petition against the torture of Albanian minors by the police suggests that there is institutional racism rather than xenophobia (fear). It is surely not fear that prompts torture but racism. The same can be said of the rise of LAOS, or indeed the torture of Necati Zontul ion 2001 and 165 others. So the question should be whether Greece shares this racism, is aware of the xenophobia that drives it, or whether (as I hope and suspect) it is confined to a very few (but influential) sectors in Greek society - specifically the police-force, army, Church and Government. And of course, it is possible to instance numerous policemen and women, Hierarchs in Greece and beyond who are sickened by the rise in racism and the surge in xenophobic propaganda.

role of Graffiti?

Much of the xenophobia recently has been orchestrated by the Church and its support for a number of far-right wing political movements
