♥ Has anyone lived or been in Greece? How is the weather there in November? I am going there Nov. 17th!

♥ I'm so ecstatic! I love the country's culture and history. However, I am not sure what kind of clothes to bring along my vacation. Have any suggestions?

Thank you! ♥ It is much appreciated!

It depends on where in Greece you ll go!

I live in norht part, so in November weather here is usually rainy, windy and of course cold! I suggest winter clothes !
But some days during winter, its sunshine and warm! just in case, take 1-2 more light clothes with you! you never know :)

According to the statistics, the last 5 years the weather was exceptionally good, mostly sunny and with temperatures quite high for the particular time. So you may get lucky. Just in case though get with you some warm clothing and a raincoat.
As Cpinatsi advised you try to avoid the areas of the center in Athens and you will be okay. If however you feel adventurous you can get before late in the afternoon to the festivities of the students' uprising in 1973 during the junta period. Something, that you will find nowhere else.
The place is close to the Archaeological Museum. If you know the hotel you are staying come back again to point you where and when to go.

First of all, I must warn you that Nov. 17 is the national anniversary of a rebellion against the dictatorship, 34 years ago, so on that particular day there will be some trouble on teh streets and some young anarchists fighting with the police in the areas near the National Archaeological museum and possibly outside the American Embassy. So these areas are to be avoided on that particular day, but don't worry, it happens every year, the rest of the days go wherever you like. Also, don't take a bus from the airport on that day, prefer the metro, or you may be stuck in traffic.
As for the weather, November is the end of fall. So it is quite unpredictable. Chances are the weather will be good and sunny, but not too warm, but there are many chances of having 1-2 rainy days. so be prepared for all kinds of weather, except too summer-like hot and too winter-like cold (it won't be either).
Have a good time!

It is true it does depend on where in Greece you go. The north is definitely colder by November (during some cold years, maybe the heating is already on) than the south. In any case, you will need a jacket (at least for the evenings), sunglasses, shirts and a light jumper. Normally, you will not need flip flops, shorts and the like unless global warming is getting even worse. Just in case, check the weather on the internet a couple of days before your travel.

Hi, the weather can be very unpredictable in November, don't take summer clothes as it's likely you will have some rain!

You won;t need to take a scarf and gloves but you will need long sleeves and a coat. Dress for Autumn!

Have a great holiday.
