What do people do in Nantes, France? I mean the locals? I've already searched the tourist sightseeing things online, so I don't need help with that. I want to know about the culture and the people of Nantes. If you live in Nantes, what do you like about it? what do you not like about it (other than the weather)? How is it (and the people) different from other french cities? what is fun and boring? I want to know what it's like! I'm thinking of moving there.

Also, if you know, what are some good (yet cheap) areas to look for studio apartments that would still be in a central part of town?

Thanks,
Smile

I have been searching around the web for tips on permanent relocation to Amsterdam. Now I have found useful tips here and there but there is no one compendium of information that I have found yet. I was just wondering if someone who has done this or relocated to the Netherlands in general would help me by giving all the little details of the process, warnings etc. etc. If possible could someone also list the things that must be done to maintain citizenship so that I could stay. Thank you.

I will be travelling across western Europe for about a month and a half with two of my buddies soon (in may). I am 18. What would be the best way to carry my money? Should I use a debit card, credit card, cash? I am afraid to carry cash around all the time, because losing it early would mean practical death. If I should use a certain method, what do I need to do for that? For example, if the best choice is debit card, how do I set one of those up?

I am considering going to Brussels for a few months to assist a friend who lives there. I have two school age children. Would I be able to enroll them in school for the time we are there. I would also keep them up on their school work from their American school, but would like them to experience school in Belgium. They know some French and are in kindergarten and first grade so could pick up language quickly. Thoughts, advice, pros, cons - all welcome.
