I am going to Europe for my 15 birthday. I am oh so excited!!! But what should i expect from over there? Lolz. Is it true that american appliances don't work over there? Will I have fun over there?

Well, I live in Germany and yes, US electric items doesn't work here, because we do have different plugs and a different voltage system. Best thing for you is to buy an adapter before you're leaving for Europe - the plugs in the UK and Ireland are even different as in mainland Europe.
And in most cases, American cellphones also doesn't work in Europe (different frequencies, etc), so leave your cellphone at home - it's better.
I am sure that you might enjoy your trip to Europe.

Congratulations. You will have tons of fun. You are correct that American appliances don't work in Europe. In order to make them work, you need something called a power converter. You see, American appliances use 110 volts of electricity and European ones use 220. Therefore, it you plug an American alarm clock into a European plug it will melt, literally. Just go to your nearest electronics store and they will hook you up. Keep in mind, that most American cell phone plans do not work either. You will need to check with your provider.
Fun is one thing you don't have to worry about. In Europe you can see the entire history of western civilization right alongside a funky modern culture. Everything, from the people, to the music, to the food is interesting. You will have a blast.

Europe is a huge continent with 700 million inhabitants, dozens of very different cultures and climates ranging from Mediterranean to Arctic. You need to be more specific about you destination if you want an accurate answer.
