Sometimes when I think about Canadians I get scared. Not Farley Mowat. He doesn't scare me. But that For Better or For Worse cartoon is pretty scary. And Canadians in general can be intimidating. Like many people, I've been traumatized by Canadians.

What is it like in Halifax NS? Crime (murders, burglaries, etc), Schools, Home Price, etc. Is it a nice place to live, espically to raise a family?

What is the weather like? Does it tornado? I am coming from midwestern U.S where that is somthing that happens far too often and I wanted to get away from alot of it.

I am considering imigrating from the U.S to Canada but am still deciding on a place, and for some reason Halifax sort of stood out.

What do I need to do? Should I marry her first to apply for citizenship or should I apply for a work visa and then go from there? How do I apply for these visas, etc.?

(And before I get a lot of trolling, let me explain. I love the U.S., but I love her too, and if leaving my beloved homeland is what I need to do to keep her, then so be it! Besides, with global warming, Toronto will be as warm as Dallas in a decade or so anyways.)

I know there are plenty of military hiring events in the US such as Recruit Military and MilitaryStars, I am wondering if Canada has a similar event type.
