For the most part, only the English version is used when the anthem is sung at an international event. However, within the country, several occasions get two verses - one English, one French. (The 'official' version signed into law in 1980 only lists the English verse ... the fact that I know the French verse only goes to show how old I am!)
O Canada
Our home and native land
True patriot love in all thy sons command
With glowing hearts we see thee rise
The True North strong and free
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee
O Canada, glorious and free
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada
Terre de nos aieux
Ton fronts est ceints de fleurons glorieux
Car ton bras sait porter l'epee
Il sait porter la croix
Ton histoire est une epopee
Des plus brilliants exploits
Et ta valeur, de foi trompe,
Protegera nos foyers et nos droits
Protegera nos foyers et nos droits.
