i am a waiter at an american restaurant called "applebees" in florida, usa. today, a customer left me a few "toonie"(s) as gratuity. it has a polar bear in front and q. elizabeth in back. if i deposit it at an american bank, will it be worth something? i hate to think that the customer played a prank on me. someone please help.

My husband and I wanted to take a quick weekend trip to Vancouver, BC from Seattle. We'd be crossing at the Peace Arch via car. I have a passport but he does not. We're looking for his birth cert but I heard something about being able to use a US Voter Registration card along with a Photo ID (Drivers License). Can anyone verify this? Thanks!!!!

I know this has been done to death and frequently asked...

But does anyone know if the UK actually shares our criminal record info with the US or Canada? Many people tell me that as long as you don't declare it you will be fine, and then someone else comes along and says they know of someone who has been caught out.

What I want to hear is has anyone actually been caught themselves who can vouch for the fact that the US/Canada and the UK share criminal record information?

In case you're wondering I served 8 months in prison for smuggling ecstasy (a very small amount)...I have been to Spain recently and my own country didnt even bother to check me out on return, so I'm obviously not considered highrisk.
