It completely depends on what kind of business you are doing and if you planning to live down there while you work. If you are just visiting there routinely it is easier to do business than if you are trying to move.

No you do not need a visa to do business in the US if you are a Canadian Resident [NAFTA] that was part of the reason for creating NAFTA. you need only pay taxes in one jurisdiction usually the one in which you reside
