I am not trying to cause any trouble here. But I once heard that the Japanese text books completely omit what the Japanese soldiers did in mainland China (i.e. Nanking Massacre, chemical testing on human beings...etc.) May I ask if this is true?

I understand this is a sensitive issue. I know that the Chinese government has been demanding for decades that these events should be taught and be talked about in Japanese schools. I am just wondering if this is actually still the case in Japan.

I want to travel to Japan this summer but i don't know exactly what i need to go there. I don't want to go there and be on the streets or sick or something. I won't go this summer if there is too much to do. But i really really really wan to go this summer.

I'm gonna fly next week with my daughter to this wonderful country (been there 10 years ago). Can anyone tell me what I can do and see there on interesting things for a kid, like beaches, places to play (beside Disneyland in Tokyo which is 3h away)? Reasonable place to stay, probably together with native families? Sorry for my bad english, I'm german ;-)

I just bought one at Uniqlo and it even came with instructions! I can't make anything out of them, though, they're so confusing. Please save from the embarrassment of asking my Japanese girlfriends.

I work part time job at a restaurant near a UC school which has many japanese students studying abroad. We often get Japanese costomers which know close to no english. I would like to know what are some common phrases I can use to help them out.

For example
How may I help you today?
Im dont speak much japanese, but i'll try to help you out.
Would u like Rice, or noodles
For here or to go?
Which number order would you like?
Your total is $4.85
Come again.

This would really help me out.

Thanx

I need to get a re-entry permit and I've heard the Regional Immigration Bureau in Sendai is hard to find. I need directions/instructions and a map. Or if you know a map and directions for the Koriyama Bureau, that would also work. Thanks!

まだまだこれから. It looks like this in romaji: mada mada kore kara. Does anyone know what it means, its pretty common in songs, but I never knew what it meant. Any ideas?
