I'm not sure if Japan has a set minimum wage, but I'd like to know what kind of pay to expect from the lower-end jobs. Like cashier at some place, fast-food, etc. same type of jobs here, but in Japan, what kind of salary would I expect? It seems that Japan's economy stays in Japan, so wouldn't their minimum wage be higher than ours, or at least somewhat better? Any help would be appreciated.

we already hired an attorney to help and make sure there won't be any problems, but it took over 1 month just to get to information right on the application to send to the immigration office. Now they have my 130 paperwork, but refused my 129 paperwork because they said they recently "updated" it. Is this going to be the way it's going to be throughout the entire process. I was told by a officer at the immigration place when I called that the process is easy and takes 6-9 months. All the attorneys I talked with say 7-8 months average. But I also hear different imformation, that the process can get complicated and be 2 years or more. What is your experience doing this?

I'm going back to Pinas in Dec for the first time in almost 19 years, so i plan on doing an absolute crapload of shopping while i'm there.
Apart from plastic balloons and barrel men i'm looking to get a fair share of VCDs and music, but i don't really know where to start.

All the Filipino movies i've seen are about 850 years old (no really, Vilma Santos is like 20 in some of them...) and if i have to watch ANOTHER Mano Po i'm going to cry. I'm looking for something in the vein of Jologs in regards to storyline, or even something cutesy like BCUZ OF U.
Basically rec me any movies with good storylines OR any not so great movies with guys that look like Diether Ocampo in them lol
But please, NO PIOLO. My mother already has ALL his movies D:

As for music, well my parents are sick of me listening to Kpop/Jpop/Cpop and want me to listen to more Filipino music (Fpop? FliPop?) so if you guys can recommend any good pop or hip-hop artists it would make them VERY happy :)

Thanks guys

I am planning to study in Japan next month. For my convinent, I wish to open a Japanese bank account in here in advance so that I can use it right away when I am in Japan. Is there anyway that you can open a Japanese yen account here (by buying from CA$) or any suggestion? Thanks.

Here in the Philippines, the jeepney has been its trademark vehicle or transportation. I sometimes take the jeepney going to my office, and coming back home. Although the ideal Philippine jeepney may look colorful and attractive in all its bright and festive colors, in reality, and this is true for public commuters, when boarding a jeepney, you experience the worst of Filipinos! Jeepney drivers and their "conductors" call and shout and yell the name or names of the destinations where the jeep is heading, much to the discomfort of your ears. They fill the jeepney with passengers to capacity! Most times you'd find yourself squeezed by your fellow passenger from both sides, you all look like sardines packed so tightly in a can! And, then there's the passengers, if you are the last passenger to board the jeep, those who have already seated themselves would tend to move towards the door leaving you a seating space that's farthest the door! All forms of courtesy disappear! WHY???????
